Happy First Year Anniversary to Dr. Megan!

March 03, 2021

Dr. Megan officially joined our Highway Vet Family on March 3rd last year, just as the pandemic was ramping up.

In all of the chaos and craziness that has followed, we, unfortunately, did not find the time to formally introduce Dr. Megan to everyone. For those of you who have had the opportunity to "meet" Dr. Megan over the phone, you know what an exceptional caregiver and skilled doctor she is! Dr. Megan performs all of our surgical and dental procedures and sees appointments one day a week. She has seamlessly melded into our veterinary family and our pet parents are in love!

Now we celebrate Dr. Megan's One Year Anniversary as an official member of the HVH Team! Welcome Dr. Megan, and thanks for being you! Her bio can be found below:

Dr. Megan Martorana moved to Annapolis in 2014 but is originally from Florida and Colorado. She received her undergraduate degree from Eckerd College in Marine Sciences, with a concentration in Geology, and a Master's Degree from the University of South Florida in Geochemistry. While completing her Master's Degree, she had two accident-prone dogs that introduced her to the field of veterinary medicine. It was then that Dr. Megan realized her passion for caring for animals and decided to change careers. In 2010, she graduated from the Colorado State University School of Veterinary Medicine.

One of Dr. Megan's favorite aspects of practicing veterinary medicine is the human-animal bond. She is very excited to be a member of Highway Veterinary Hospital where preserving this bond and providing excellent health care services for your pets is our highest priority. Other areas of interest for Dr. Megan include dentistry, soft tissue surgery, geriatric medicine, and pain management. You will find Dr. Megan in the surgical and dental suites every Tuesday and Thursday taking care of all of our anesthetic procedures.

When not at work, Dr. Megan can be found gardening, boating, or exploring downtown Annapolis with her husband, Charlie, and their son, Francesco. They share their home with an Australian Shepherd, Daisy, and two cats named McFly and Gemma.
