Dr. Julie Winters - Veterinarian

${name}

Dr. Julie Winters grew up right here in Maryland.

Dr. Winters received her BS degree in Biology from the University of Maryland Baltimore County in 2007 and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Virginia Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine in 2012. Upon graduation, she started working in small animal medicine and became the lead veterinarian at her hospital three years later. Joining Highway Veterinary Hospital in May of 2021, Dr. Winters is excited to be part of a team that is so focused on strengthening the family-pet bond.

Dr. Winters enjoys all aspects of small animal medicine but especially enjoys dentistry and preventive care. Pets have always been part of her family and she knows how important it is to keep them healthy for as long as possible by protecting them from preventable disease and detecting any illnesses early. She utilizes many fear-free strategies to keep the veterinary visit as low stress for pets as possible.

In her personal time, Dr. Winters enjoys water-skiing, running, cooking, and spending time with her husband and four children. They currently share their home with a German Shepherd, Hulk, a Dachshund, Quill, and three cats, Evie, Jax, and Juniper.
